Casablanca Valley
(9 hours)

Even though this valley has been “Discovered” recently, it is already worldwide known and even compared with the best terrains of the world. The sea air has a positive influence creating the perfect ecologic conditions for the grapes.

Casablanca valley is located 40 kilometers from Valparaiso and 80 kilometers from Santiago.

This valley was discovered as a good terrain for grapes just in 1980 by wine maker Pablo Morande, who was looking for terrains colder than the traditional valleys assigned for premium white wines, such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay and also the red variety Pinot Noir.

The first 20 hectares were planted in 1982; the excellent results triggered a fast expansion of the wineries in the area, reaching presently more than 3500 hectares.
